What’s this role about?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Trading to lead our trading team and drive profitability for our energy trading desk. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy trading, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in managing trading activities within the energy sector. This is a Hybrid role, based from our Dublin office in Citywest.
What will I be doing?
- Develop and implement trading strategies: Develop and execute trading strategies to optimize profitability and manage risk in alignment with the company’s overall goals and market conditions.
- Lead trading team: Provide leadership and direction to the trading team, in managing and implement trading strategies for utility scale volumes of BESS, Wind , Solar & DR assets.
- Ensure efficient and effective operation and co-ordination between trading strategy and trading operations teams.
- Risk Management: Implement robust risk management practices to monitor and mitigate trading risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.
- Market analysis: Stay abreast of market developments, trends, and regulatory changes in the energy sector to inform trading strategies and decision-making.
- Relationship management: Build and maintain relationships with key counterparties, including customers, brokers, and exchanges, to facilitate trading activities and identify new opportunities.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies governing trading activities, including reporting requirements and ethical standards.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyse trading performance, including P&L, trading metrics, and key performance indicators, to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including risk management, finance, operations, and legal, to support business objectives and optimize trading activities
- Guiding the evolution of our global market leading forecasting and optimization platform capabilities working closely with our product team.
What do I need to be a good technical fit for this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in energy trading, with a deep understanding of energy markets, products, and trading strategies.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed trading decisions.
- Proficiency in trading platforms and market analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of risk management principles and practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strong focus on results and continuous improvement.

What’s this role about?
We are seeking a highly skilled and autonomous Senior Electrical Engineer to drive the design and delivery of small to mid-scale power infrastructure projects. You will be the technical authority on our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) generator rollouts. Moving beyond pure drafting, this role focuses on end-to-end project lifecycle management, technical leadership, and maintaining the high engineering standards that keep our medium-voltage sites safe and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Project Leadership: Drive BESS, HVO generator, and transformer upgrades from initial site feasibility and supplier assessment through to grid connection, commissioning, and final handover in partnership with the Project Manager.
- Advanced Design & Standardization: Produce robust AC/DC designs, cable schedules, and tender documents. You will leverage, manage, and continuously improve our established suite of foundational CAD templates, setting the baseline for the wider deployment team.
- Safety & Technical Authority: Act as the definitive technical voice from the feasibility stage with the customer to on-site during commissioning. You will provide clear, unambiguous technical support to the sales teams and to contractors in high-risk environments, ensuring zero confusion and strict adherence to electrical standards.
- Site & Construction Management: Conduct site feasibility surveys, manage external consultants through the design phases, rigidly audit installed works, and lead Root-Cause-Analysis (RCA) investigations on equipment failures.
- Commercial Delivery: Develop complete project tender packages, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), while actively managing project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
Required Experience & Skills
- Core Qualifications: 5 to 7+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer within the power generation, renewables or utilities industry. An Electrical Craft Certificate is advantageous but not essential.
- Technical Expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of generator systems, BESS integrations, medium-voltage installations, and earthing.
- Design Proficiency: Highly capable of reading, understanding, and producing complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD.
- Communication & Leadership: An exceptional, assertive communicator who can translate complex technical plans into clear field instructions for diverse teams.
- Autonomy & Mobility: A self-starter capable of managing projects independently across diverse locations in Ireland and the UK. A valid full driving license is required.

Skills & Experience
