Role

 

  • The successful candidate for this role will be tasked with enabling GridBeyond to grow a portfolio of Standalone, Co-located Utility-scale, Behind the Meter and Community batteries in
  • Supporting our continued success as a market-leading aggregation & optimisation service provider.
  • Australia is a fast growing market for Utility Scale Batteries and the successful candidate will sell the GridBeyond products and services to batteries utilized in other territories

What are we looking for

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

 

  • Understanding the opportunities across all available markets to maximize revenue for BESS target sector identified above in Australia.
  • Develop and progressing a sales pipeline in Salesforce of existing operational and to be built assets in key states.
  • Organizing face to face and remote meetings with key targets, and other market participants to enable sales success.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key decision makers and manage relationships with senior stakeholders using recognisable engagement mapping techniques such as Miller Heiman or equivalent.
  • Support the wider business understanding the Australian Battery market and the required product evolution to support sales success.
  • Work with your direct management team to originate PPA solutions to support business success.
  • Build qualitative strategic account plans to clearly present a path to success.
  • Supporting and progressing the development of market solutions in collaboration with key internal stakeholders
  • Ensure CRM system is fully updated and all information pertaining to sales leads and activity is entered at least weekly.
  • Run through territory planning calls and weekly sales reviews from CRM database highlighting risks and opportunities from activity entered into the CRM system.
  • Ensure that all monthly sales review material is in place for the Leadership team to evaluate at the monthly sales review.
  • Identifying opportunities to create additional cross-offerings and synergies based on client /industry demand.

 

 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO POSSESS:

  • A strong understanding of the Australia UK energy markets, and experience of FCAS and Power Trading would be welcome but not essential
  • A proven track record of delivering results within the Australian Energy industry.
  • A self starter who is able to work of their own initiative to enable business success
  • Commercial aptitude, with experience contributing to business strategy by identifying and pursuing market opportunities
  • The ability to effectively communicate complex information to a variety of stakeholders including those in sales and operational functions and most importantly to board level with actionable summary reporting.

What are we looking for

 

  • Leading the analysis and supporting the development of strategic commercial propositions in order to sell Demand Response & Ancillary Service programmes to large energy consumers in the USA.
  • Managing time between market analysis and delivery effectively to keep on top of new top funnel and pipeline activity.
  • Supporting and progressing the development of market solutions in collaboration with key internal stakeholders
  • Building and developing strategic analysis of the target market and sectors and delivering propositions based on this analysis.
  • Delivering the output of market and customer analysis to the Regional Directors (RDs) & Strategic Acc. Directors (SADs) to ensure that they fully understand the opportunity and any sector/customer specific knowledge to support their engagement.
  • Support SADs with Strategic Account Plan development & analysis
  • Support development of Strategic Engagement Plans with RDs
  • Make yourself available to support key strategic meetings and webinars, ensuring regular 1-2-1s with the external sales team to ensure strong maintained relationships.
  • Ensure CRM system is fully updated and all information pertaining to sales leads and activity is entered at least weekly.
  • Lead territory planning calls and weekly sales reviews from CRM database evaluating sales data and outputs from activity entered into the CRM system.
  • Liaise with salespeople to ensure all data and change of status regarding pipeline is captured and accurate on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure that all monthly sales review material is in place for Senior Mgmt team to evaluate at monthly sales review.
  • Perform market and competitor analysis on a regular (at least once a month) basis at a Country level and report findings to VP North America & Head of Marketing.
  • Be prepared to support ad hoc reporting and analysis for VP North America as business pressures require it.
  • Identifying opportunities to create additional cross-offerings and synergies based on client/industry demand.
  • Identifying funding opportunities and completing the documentation to acquire it.
  • Support the Partnership Managers in developing and managing key partnerships with major utilities, battery/renewable developers, gas generation/CHP manufacturers.
  • Organize projects & tenders, monitor progress and assess & manage the risks.
  • Support SADs/RDs in developing and managing opportunities that come from referral/partner channels including tracking individual partnership pipelines.
  • Support Markets Managers with operational deployment and other regulatory analysis that may be required, acting as a key bridge between a) the sales and installation teams and b) the markets managers by facilitating any necessary administrative procedures.
  • Providing market forecasting to support the company’s successful growth strategy in the USA
  • Leading the presales team including recruitment and training of new team members, weekly reviews of activities, and ensuring team performance/aligning team objectives with that of the business.

 

 

What you will have

 

  • Previous experience and knowledge of the PJM and/or ERCOT power markets.
  • A strong sales/business development background with an ability to apply business development techniques to develop and shape long-term opportunities to point of sale
  • Use of CRM and database management
  • Confident use and demonstration of spread sheet interrogation and production of high quality datasets and slide decks.
  • Ability to manage and forecast sales cycles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to confidently present sophisticated/technical concepts/outcomes to a wide variety of stakeholders including engineers, managers and directors.
  • Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, master’s degree preferable though not essential.

Role

 

  • You’ll be part of the pioneering team building GridBeyond’s PPA business across the UK & Ireland
  • Developing GridBeyond’s PPA market solutions, including managing external relationships and working with internal stakeholders
  • Working with Sales team to build and manage GridBeyond’s PPA pipeline, progressing PPAs from origination to execution, to deliver target PPA growth
  • Providing first class account management to GridBeyond’s PPA generators
  • Working with internal stakeholders to manage the operational processes associated with the PPA portfolio
  • Developing Innovative PPA structures where by generation, storage and/or demand flexibility is utilized to manage Wholesale risk
  • Researching and analyzing the PPA market and working with the Trading, Market Strategy functions to develop new products and services for PPA generators and propostions to sell this generation to GridBeyond’s existing & new Industrial customer base.
  • Building and developing strategic analysis of the target market and sectors and delivering propositions based on this analysis serving GridBeyond’s customers including renewable generator and Industrial / Commercial customers.

 

 

What are we looking for

  • Experience in an Origination role for PPA sector;
  • A strong understanding of PPA valuation including embedded benefits and wholesale and imbalance risks;
  • Strong network in the UK and Ireland renewable sector and a good understanding of the UK and Ireland renewable support schemes and associated certification;
  • Experience of the operational processes involved in managing a PPA portfolio;
  • A strong commercial mindset with a track record of delivering deals which add value;
  • Proven ability to manage the full PPA acquisition process including Origination, Due Diligence, Negotiation, Execution and Onboarding;
  • Demonstrable experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to understand customers’ needs and requirements and translate these into profitable solutions;
  • Ability to monitor and analyse market developments;

The System Support Engineer will be a part of the development team and they will be responsible for supporting our deployment teams as they on-board customers and our Network Operations team.

The successful candidate will provide support internally and externally through systems configuration, analysis, and investigation. Responsible for the configuration and test of system applications in adherence with GridBeyond’s standards, processes and best practices.

What are we looking for

 

We are seeking a creative, self-motivated engineer who is passionate about delivering quality and support, with superior attention to detail, able to work on a dynamic and collaborative environment, able to multi-task and anger to learn and deploy new technologies.

 

 

Responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Real-time systems support for the Network Operations Centre and Development team.
  • Dealing with individual customer and Network Operations Centre team requests for system changes.
  • Documenting and creation of systems training manuals and hosting of systems training events across GridBeyond offices.
  • Liaising with internal Network Operations Centre and Development teams in order to collect and document system configuration change requirements and driving the delivery of system configuration and upgrade projects.
  • Back end systems setup for new and existing customers; embedded controller, reporting, energy and alarming tools, and smart grid application engine configuration.
  • Work with team to meet tight deadlines, while identifying emerging issues and recommending solutions.
  • Liaising with software team members in the test of new back- and front-end system applications. Provide feedback to the development team on tools and services to assist with systems operation and contribute to the requirement specification process.
  • Contribute ideas to help ensure that required standards and processes are in place and actively look for opportunities to enhance and innovate solutions and improve process efficiency.
  • Be part of the team to provide out of hours systems support cover as part of the escalation process when problems arise. This is on a rotational basis and payments associated with this activity are not covered in the standard package offered and are paid on top of standard package.

 

 

 

 

Required Experience and Skills

 

  • Knowledge and understanding of IT systems and networks.

GridBeyond is a technology leader in the evolving smart grid offering Load Shifting, Demand Response and Frequency Response services. The smart grid is the next generation electricity network. Its aim is to utilise any possible electricity producing or consuming resource connected to the grid, from small residential to large industrial loads, to ensure security of supply in a changing energy landscape and to maximise value to the public. This challenging vision requires new technologies to be developed, in particular control and IT technology.

What are we looking

  • Installation of Gridbeyond’s electrical metering, control hardware and software equipment.
  • Electrical craft certificate with a minimum of 8 years’ experience
  • Commissioning of Gridbeyond’s monitoring and control site system.
  • Interfacing Gridbeyond’s site-based hardware to electrical loads in a wide variety of industry types.
  • Communication with site-based engineering staff and third-party maintenance contractors whilst installing and commissioning.
  • Troubleshooting and investigating faults on current sites in Gridbeyond’s portfolio.
  • Upgrading panels and retrofitting components as required by Gridbeyond’s development team.
  • Report writing following installations.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration controls beneficial but not essential, including Danfoss, Carel, RDM, JTL, Emerson and independent PLC controls providers such as STAR refrigeration. Training will be provided where skills gaps exist.
  • Interface effectively with customers to resolve requests and system issues.
  • Extended travel is required, >60%, mainly in Ireland but on rare occasions to the UK.

What are we looking for? We are seeking a creative developer passionate about building excellent software. This candidate will lead a team of developers working in an agile development environment and contribute to GridBeyond’s Smart Grid Platform development through programming, analysis, design, implementation and delivery of software applications.   • Assist with technical recruitment roles to build up resourcing in the Energy Services Development Team.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Professional experience working as a Team Lead or Senior Developer with exposure to same as part of role.
  • Demonstrable success in designing and developing high availability, high performance, scalable applications.
  • Extensive experience with object orientated programming in C#, the .Net stack, Entity Framework and API Services
  • Strong experience with databases such as MS SQL.
  • Understanding of design principles for cloud-based platforms and cloud development experience with Azure

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of the Inside Sales Analyst is to provide support for sales and marketing activity – translating our highly targeted Marketing approach into meaningful conversations with potential clients and partners. Responsibilities

The candidate shall support several sales personnel by driving the internal sales process including:

  • Lead generation through continuous research and analysis to build on a pre-existing CRM database

Education/Training

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to confidently present sophisticated / technical concepts to a wide variety of stakeholders including tenants, engineers, facility managers and CFOs
  • Ability to influence and negotiate throughout complex, technical sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders
  • Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management
  • Strategic thinker, with operational delivery capability
  • First rate customer management skills, coupled with strong listening and communications skills
