We are currently recruiting an enthusiastic and self-motivated senior energy manager due to the growth in our energy management, energy strategy services and delivery and implementation solutions. The following position will work within GridBeyond’s Net Zero Business Unit and will help GridBeyond provide its customers with solutions on their route to net zero.

In this role you will:

  • Leverage your core consulting skills to understand and structure clients’ challenges; develop hypotheses on solutions; undertake market assessments; develop business cases and design operating models to unlock value and enhance sustainability outcomes.
  • Use your deep industry knowledge and sustainability expertise to advise clients on their sustainability goals and transformation.
  • Develop and sustain client relationships and identify commercial opportunities.
  • Develop and grow the capabilities of our team, acting as a mentor and coach.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the leadership and development of GridBeyond’s multidisciplinary Net Zero Business unit.
  • Lead and manage projects and people to achieve strategic and operational targets for individual and team goals. Setting clear objectives, workstreams and KPI’s to deliver results and business impact.
  • EnPI (Energy performance Indicator) development in an onsite energy management capacity and input into internal software development.
  • Knowledge and implementation of energy management standards such as ISO50001, IS399 and ISO14064 along with ISO14001 familiarity. Demonstrated evidence of excellent data monitoring and high-level understanding of BREEAM, and LEED or similar.
  • Prepare and execute detailed site energy audits to inform site strategic direction, establish, carbon baseline methodologies and data collection processes for scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions, site energy balance and identify energy conservation measures along with benchmarking to drive further energy improvements. There may be some audit work to support demand site response identification and implementation required.
  • Understanding of renewable technologies and their associated site suitability along with proven detailed analysis of onsite solar/wind, heat pumps and electric boilers.
  • Deliver climate change impact and risk assessment and gap analysis to inform corporates strategy.
  • Measure and report GHG protocol and associated standards, TCFD reporting frameworks, science-based target methodologies, Life Cycle Analysis (LCA).
  • Prepare reports, business case development and feasibility studies. This will include undertaking both high level and investment grade studies for energy conservation measures understanding both the business and technology impacts.
  • Undertake analysis of data and provide outputs such as benchmarking, load profile review and regression analysis.
  • Understand sustainability reporting and the alignment to standards. Assist in the implementation of reporting requirements of corporates.
  • Design & Project Management – Designing, procuring, and overseeing energy efficient and renewable energy upgrade projects to existing and new facilities.
  • Measurement & Verification – Quantifying energy savings achieved and reporting on these based on the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP).
  • Assessing building services plant and equipment including HVAC, chillers, refrigeration, kilns, furnaces, boilers, air compressors, pumps and the associated controls (BEMS).
  • Identification of energy saving opportunities, quantifying the likely savings and associated cost-benefits.
  • Use your judgment to solve complex, client business and sustainability problems, bringing structure and rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques.
  • Develop and sustain trusted senior client relationships to sustain and grow the services that GridBeyond offer.
  • Support GridBeyond’s business (including cost management, contract management) with discipline, rigor and integrity through proven project management capabilities.
  • Support business development activities including opportunity identification/qualification and proposal development/presentation.
  • Other activities and new service offerings that may arise as the role develops globally to enhance capabilities and support the growth and development of the business.
  • Familiarity and identification of funding opportunities and supports for corporates to support future projects and consultancy.

Requirements:

  • Level 8 Degree in Energy, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Have at least 8 years’ experience in energy management, strategy, or renewable technology.
  • Effective leadership, communication, interpersonal and strong management skills.
  • Understanding of energy policy and corporate energy/sustainability challenges.
  • Ability to think strategically and bring this into business case scenarios through practical experience.
  • Ability to build and successfully motivate teams to satisfy client requirements and to achieve business unit goals.

Job Description:

The following position will work within GridBeyond’s newly formed Market Optimisation team and will help GridBeyond provide its customers with a route to market to monetise flexibility and generation in all available ancillary services, reserve, and energy markets. The role involves a close working relationship with our clients and our market optimisation team requiring successful candidates to be involved in optimisation and execution of trading strategies while ensuring all customer sites are responding to grid services. Successful candidates will also be involved in development of solutions, tools and reports whilst providing ongoing analysis of markets. This is a 24/7 shift work position enabling GridBeyond to cover ancillary, reserve and energy markets in Ireland, UK and the United States.

As the Business requires there is opportunity to utilise your market and energy expertise to assist clients on their path to net zero. This allows you to integrate into GridBeyond’s dedicated Net Zero Business Unit which is growing in line with the market demand. Reporting to: Market Optimisation Manager

Major Accountabilities:

  • Optimising our portfolio in Great Britain’s ancillary services (frequency, reserve) and power markets. Analysing market dynamics, defining short term trading strategies. Trade execution and both, financial and physical management of our asset’s positions.
  • Support and drive GridBeyond’s entry into new ancillary services and power markets such as, but not limited to, ERCOT and PJM. Understand market structure, analyse potential opportunities and definition and execution of trading strategies.
  • Assessing and dealing with alarms taking ownership and responsibility to solve them in a timely fashion.
  • Dealing with customer requests (report config, setpoint changes, schedule changes etc).
  • Support GridBeyond smart grid services; application processes, generating and carrying out weekly and real-time declarations, declaration analysis, dispatch management, site/application alarms and generating customer statements.
  • Contacting customers to ensure we have dispatch and engagement info up to date and that customers themselves are ready for dispatches.
  • Ensuring we are always ready to deliver a dispatch to answer the needs of the Grid. Having procedures and staff at the ready to deliver.

  • Installation of Gridbeyond’s electrical metering, control hardware and software equipment
  • Commissioning of Gridbeyond’s monitoring and control site system

Job Overview

The successful candidate will join the Audit to Proposal team and the Deployment team contributing to GridBeyond’s Smart Grid Platform development through analysis, design, implementation and delivery of customer projects. The candidate will develop control specs, engage control partners, overcome technical issues with automated solutions and become a key resource in the on-boarding site process.

Reporting to: Head of Client Solutions

Based: GridBeyond’s Dublin Office: 3015 Lake Drive, Citywest Business Park, Dublin 24. Travel to Cork will be 50% of the time during first 6 months for training.

Major Accountabilities

Responsible for writing control specifications, engagement with partner control companies, creating automated solutions that satisfy Gridbeyond, end customer and any other key stakeholders, programming, testing and onboarding.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Liaise with audit team, clients, industry experts and other stakeholders in order to collect and document technical requirements for customer projects.
  • Liaising with internal NOC and Development teams in order to collect and document system configuration change requirements and driving the delivery of system configuration and upgrade projects.
  • Back end systems setup for new and existing customers; embedded controller, reporting, energy and alarming tools, and smart grid application engine configuration.
  • Dealing with individual customer and NOC team requests for system changes.
  • Attending sites and meetings to progress control specifications or investigate issues.
  • Work with team to meet scheduled due dates, while identifying emerging issues and recommending solutions.
  • Contribute ideas to help ensure that required standards, processes, forms and specification documents are in place and actively look for opportunities to enhance and innovate solutions and improve process efficiency.
  • Liaising with software team members in the test of new back and front-end system applications. Provide feedback to the development team on tools and services to assist with systems operation and contribute to the development requirement specification gathering process.

Required Experience and Skills

A minimum of 5-6 years’ professional experience is required.

Job Overview

This role will primarily be auditing large energy using sites for Demand Side Response (DSR) opportunities. The successful candidate will attend sites, get an understanding of that particular sites process, understand the sites flexibility in terms of MW’s that can be turned up or down and then be able to complete work specs (inclusive of metering and control) for these sites to bring them live in DSR services. The successful candidate will also be expected to occasionally assist installs or troubleshoot issues on other live sites if the business requires it.

The Position

Reporting directly to the VP Sales & Revenue, the Business Development Manager (BDM) represents a key role for the business, at an important time in its development. The appointee can expect direct interaction with the senior leadership team and will assume responsibility for:

The successful candidate for this newly created role will be tasked with helping GridBeyond to establish a foothold in the American Power Markets, starting in Texas with Ercot, and to replicate its status in the UK and ROI, as a market leading service provider. This will be achieved through conducting thorough research and analysis into monetization opportunities for flexible and distributed assets in the smart grid market place in Texas to understand available revenue streams and inherent risks in same. The key objective being to optimize commercial opportunities for the business in the Ercot Market, and representing GridBeyond and our interests at key industry events and working groups. The role may involve research into other relevant markets at times.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Ercot procurement analysis, understanding the needs of the Texas grid/Ercot and translating these into actionable business strategies
  • Market engagement, attending meetings with Ercot and other Market participants – eg. aggregators/CSPs/QSEs – to influence and identify regulatory concerns and future market developments
  • Preparation of communications and collateral, drawing information from reports and providing insight on industry advancements to GridBeyond Directors and other internal stakeholders
  • Consulting internally on the impact of regulations on commercial activity, such as tender proposition and service development
  • The role will primarily cover the ERCOT market but may require facilitating understanding of other emerging smart grid markets in the US

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO POSSESS:

  • Market engagement, attending meetings with PJM and other Market participants – eg. aggregators/CSPs/QSEs – to influence and identify regulatory concerns and future market developments
  • Preparation of communications and collateral, drawing information from reports and providing insight on industry advancements to GridBeyond Directors and other internal stakeholders
  • Consulting internally on the impact of regulations on commercial activity, such as tender proposition and service development
  • The role will primarily cover the PJM market but may require facilitating understanding of other emerging smart grid markets in the US
  • The role will offer significant scope for growth for the successful candidate
  • Developing an understanding of market rules that govern available revenue streams for our services, path to market access, risk and penalties around performance etc.
  • Submission of various market applications, tenders etc. to access relevant revenue streams.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO POSSESS:

  • A strong understanding of the PJM market and ideally experience of demand response services
  • Significant experience working in a both a research and a commercial capacity, evaluating and producing commercial and/or technical reports and conducting analysis
  • Commercial aptitude, with experience contributing to business strategy by identifying and pursuing market opportunities
  • The ability to effectively communicate complex information to a variety of stakeholders including those in sales and operational functions and most importantly to board level with actionable summary reporting.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of the Inside Sales Analyst is to provide support for sales and marketing activity – translating our highly targeted Marketing approach into meaningful conversations with potential clients and partners. This includes market research and analysis, internal sales coordination, customer relationship management, sales administration and support, and other functions related to direct and indirect sales.

Responsibilities

The candidate shall support several sales personnel by driving the internal sales process including:

  • Lead generation through continuous research and analysis to build on a pre-existing CRM database
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound calls and emails
  • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales resource for further development
  • Participate and contribute to company meetings, conference calls, and other activities
  • Attend targeted local and regional industry association conferences and tradeshow events

Education/Training

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Energy Management or related degree or at least five years of B2B experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to confidently present sophisticated / technical concepts to a wide variety of stakeholders including tenants, engineers, facility managers and CFOs
  • Ability to influence and negotiate throughout complex, technical sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders
  • Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management

Qualifying criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field and equivalent business experience (Master’s degree in Business advantageous)
  • Minimum of 3years’ experience in a HR role involving talent acquisition or recruitment.
  • Previous experience of working with time to fill targets or similar performance targets
  • Global or Regional experience preferred particularly in USA.
