Reporting to the Global Marketing Director your mission is critical to the growth plans of the business.

 

Outlined below are some of the key responsibilities that you will have in your role: You will be supporting business development and distribute the marketing content throughout the customer’s journeys. Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to join our Data and Analytics IT Team. This candidate will work in an agile development environment to lead the design and development of our Data platform to meet the needs of Data Science and Business Management teams. The solution will integrate data from the market and various external sources, IOT sensors from Grid Beyond’s install base and business data from CRM, Billing and other IT systems. This integrated data will be used by Data science teams to create and test solutions for energy forecasting, optimization and trading. Additionally, the solution will be used to develop Power BI reports for internal and external stake holders.

You will have an opportunity to contribute to GridBeyond’s Smart Grid Platform development through analysis, design, implementation and delivery of industry leading big data and data warehousing solutions. The solution will be developed using Azure’s Cloud services and the candidate should have hands on experience of using Azure Data Platform. Ideally the candidate would have gone through the whole development life cycle from design to implementation to production on Azure during his previous projects.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will join the Audit to Proposal team and the Deployment team contributing to GridBeyond’s Smart Grid Platform development through analysis, design, implementation and delivery of customer projects. The candidate will develop control specs, engage control partners, overcome technical issues with automated solutions and become a key resource in the on-boarding site process.

Reporting to: Head of Client Solutions

Based: GridBeyond’s Dublin Office: 3015 Lake Drive, Citywest Business Park, Dublin 24. Travel to Cork will be 50% of the time during first 6 months for training.

Major Accountabilities

Responsible for writing control specifications, engagement with partner control companies, creating automated solutions that satisfy Gridbeyond, end customer and any other key stakeholders, programming, testing and onboarding.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Liaise with audit team, clients, industry experts and other stakeholders in order to collect and document technical requirements for customer projects.
  • Liaising with internal NOC and Development teams in order to collect and document system configuration change requirements and driving the delivery of system configuration and upgrade projects.
  • Back end systems setup for new and existing customers; embedded controller, reporting, energy and alarming tools, and smart grid application engine configuration.
  • Dealing with individual customer and NOC team requests for system changes.
  • Attending sites and meetings to progress control specifications or investigate issues.
  • Work with team to meet scheduled due dates, while identifying emerging issues and recommending solutions.
  • Contribute ideas to help ensure that required standards, processes, forms and specification documents are in place and actively look for opportunities to enhance and innovate solutions and improve process efficiency.
  • Liaising with software team members in the test of new back and front-end system applications. Provide feedback to the development team on tools and services to assist with systems operation and contribute to the development requirement specification gathering process.

Required Experience and Skills

A minimum of 5-6 years’ professional experience is required.

Job Overview

This role will primarily be auditing large energy using sites for Demand Side Response (DSR) opportunities. The successful candidate will attend sites, get an understanding of that particular sites process, understand the sites flexibility in terms of MW’s that can be turned up or down and then be able to complete work specs (inclusive of metering and control) for these sites to bring them live in DSR services. The successful candidate will also be expected to occasionally assist installs or troubleshoot issues on other live sites if the business requires it.

The Position

Reporting directly to the VP Sales & Revenue, the Business Development Manager (BDM) represents a key role for the business, at an important time in its development. The appointee can expect direct interaction with the senior leadership team and will assume responsibility for:

Regulatory Market analyst Job Purpose

The successful candidate for this newly created role will be tasked with helping GridBeyond to establish a foothold in the American Power Markets and to replicate its status in the UK and Ireland as a market leading service provider. This will be achieved through conducting thorough research and analysis into monetization opportunities for flexible and distributed assets in the smart grid market place in PJM to understand available revenue streams and inherent risks in same. The key objective being to optimize commercial opportunities for the business in the PJM Market, and representing GridBeyond and our interests at key industry events and working groups. The role may involve research into other relevant markets at times.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • PJM procurement analysis, understanding the needs of the PJM grid, and translating these into actionable business strategies
  • Market engagement, attending meetings with PJM and other Market participants – eg. aggregators/CSPs/QSEs – to influence and identify regulatory concerns and future market developments
  • Preparation of communications and collateral, drawing information from reports and providing insight on industry advancements to GridBeyond Directors and other internal stakeholders
  • Consulting internally on the impact of regulations on commercial activity, such as tender proposition and service development
  • The role will primarily cover the PJM market but may require facilitating understanding of other emerging smart grid markets in the US
  • The role will offer significant scope for growth for the successful candidate
  • Developing an understanding of market rules that govern available revenue streams for our services, path to market access, risk and penalties around performance etc.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO POSSESS:

  • A strong understanding of the PJM market and ideally experience of demand response services
  • Significant experience working in a both a research and a commercial capacity, evaluating and producing commercial and/or technical reports and conducting analysis
  • Commercial aptitude, with experience contributing to business strategy by identifying and pursuing market opportunities

  • Work closely with the Sales team to facilitate business development, manage pipelines and deliver results
  • Coordinate with Marketing to develop and implement promotional campaigns for territory

Education/Training

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Energy Management or related degree or at least five years of B2B experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to confidently present sophisticated / technical concepts to a wide variety of stakeholders including tenants, engineers, facility managers and CFOs
  • Ability to influence and negotiate throughout complex, technical sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders
  • Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management
  • Strategic thinker, with operational delivery capability
  • First rate customer management skills, coupled with strong listening and communications skills
  • Professional individual – articulate, honest, innovative, client-service orientated and dedicated to improving the energy markets for clients
  • Highly motivated individual and enthusiastic about green energy and technology
  • Team player, able to work both individually and on team projects
  • Commercially aware
  • Well-honed interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT skills especially regarding use of Microsoft Office Suite and the Internet

Preferred qualifications

  • Proficiency in Salesforce
  • Direct work experience in energy markets
  • Knowledge of the US electricity deregulated markets
  • Strong client-service orientation, ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques

Salary: $50k according to experience + $10k OTE (uncapped)
