What’s this role about?
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant with 3-5 years of experience and a strong understanding of the U.S. energy industry. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take full ownership of our U.S. businesses financial reporting and contribute to our financial operations within a fast-growing, innovative company committed to sustainability and technological advancement.
In time, this role may also take on reporting obligations for our Japanese and Australian businesses, that are currently in the growth stage.
This role will report into our Global Head of Finance, based in Dublin.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and report monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS.
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Assist with financial audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Take ownership and manage the monthly/quarterly/annual tax compliance for all states where GridBeyond has a presence, including state sales & use tax, and state & federal tax returns.
- Research and liaise with external advisors in respect of the taxation implications of transactions, entering new contracts, new products and markets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data related to energy transactions, such as demand response, renewable energy credits, and storage assets. This will involve a close working relationship with the Head of US business, and key sales managers, amongst others.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics relevant to the U.S. energy market.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist global finance colleagues with accounting system enhancements, as required.
- Stay current with changes in U.S. energy regulations and accounting standards affecting financial reporting.
- Engage with the wider finance team to address ad-hoc finance tasks as they arise, which may include transfer pricing analysis, intangible asset reviews etc.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as required.
- Assist with the investigation, selection and transition to a Group Tax advisor and a Group Insurance brokerage.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the U.S. energy or renewable energy sector.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and U.S. energy industry regulations.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle) and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

We are currently looking for a Sales Operations Manager for the Australian market.
The Ideal candidate will:
• Lead the analysis and support the development of strategic commercial propositions to sell Energy Management and Demand Response/Ancillary Service programs to large energy consumers and asset owners in Australia.
• Manage time between market analysis and delivery effectively to keep on top of new top funnel and pipeline activity.
• Support and progress the development of market solutions in collaboration with key internal stakeholders
• Build and develop strategic analysis of the target market and sectors and delivering propositions based on this analysis.
• Deliver the output of market and customer analysis to the Regional Directors (RDs) & Strategic Acc. Directors (SADs) to ensure that they fully understand the opportunity and any sector/customer specific knowledge to support their engagement.
• Support SADs with Strategic Account Plan development & analysis
• Support development of Strategic Engagement Plans with RDs
What will I be doing?
Responsibilities include:
- Making yourself available to support key strategic meetings and webinars, ensuring regular 1-on-1s with the external sales team to ensure strong relationships are maintained.
- Ensure CRM system is fully updated and all information pertaining to sales leads and activity is entered at least weekly.
- Lead territory planning calls and weekly sales reviews from CRM database evaluating sales
- data and outputs from activity entered to the CRM system.
- Liaise with salespeople to ensure all data and change of status regarding pipeline is captured
- and accurate on a weekly basis.
- Ensure that all monthly sales review material is in place for Senior Mgmt team to evaluate at monthly sales review.
- Perform market and competitor analysis on a regular (at least monthly) basis at a Country level
- Be prepared to support ad hoc reporting and analysis for the General Manager of Australia.
- Identifying opportunities to create additional cross-offerings and synergies based on client/industry demand.
- Identifying funding opportunities and completing the documentation to acquire it.
- Support the Partnership Managers in developing and managing key partnerships with major
- utilities, battery/renewable developers, gas generation/CHP manufacturers.
- Organize projects & tenders, monitor progress and assess & manage the risks.
- Support SADs/RDs in developing and managing opportunities that come from referral/partner channels including tracking individual partnership pipelines.
- Support Regulator & Markets Manager with operational deployment and other regulatory
- analysis that may be required, acting as a key bridge between a) the sales and installation
- teams and b) the markets managers by facilitating any necessary administrative procedures.
- Providing market forecasting to support the company’s successful growth strategy
- Leading the presales team including recruitment and training of new team members, weekly reviews of activities, and ensuring team performance/aligning team objectives with that of the business.
What do I need to be a good technical fit for this role?
- Previous experience and knowledge of the Australian Energy markets.
- A strong sales/business development background with an ability to apply business
- development techniques to develop and shape long-term opportunities to point of sale
- Use of CRM and database management
- Confident use and demonstration of spread sheet interrogation and production of high-quality datasets and slide decks.
- Ability to manage and forecast sales cycles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to confidently present sophisticated technical concepts/outcomes to a wide variety of stakeholders including engineers, managers and directors.
- Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, master’s degree preferable though not essential
- Ability to influence and negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders
- High levels of integrity and self-reliance, demonstrating knowledge of industry best practices

What’s this role about?
The following position will work within GridBeyond’s Market Optimisation team and will help GridBeyond provide its customers with a route to market to monetise flexibility and generation in all available energy markets and ancillary services. The role involves a close working relationship with our clients and our market Optimisation team requiring successful candidates to be involved in Optimisation and execution of trading strategies while ensuring all customer sites are responding to grid services. Successful candidates will also be involved in development of solutions, tools and reports whilst providing ongoing analysis of markets. This is a 24/7 shift work position enabling GridBeyond to cover ancillary and energy markets in Ireland, the UK, the US, Australia and Japan.
What will I be doing?
- Provide 24/7 monitoring on all our grid services live across the day for our diverse portfolio across Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and Japan. Understanding what is happening, being prepared to act when required depending on scenario, understanding when an issue has occurred and what to do with it.
- Optimising our portfolio in ancillary services (frequency, reserve) and energy markets. Analysing market dynamics, defining short term trading strategies. Trade execution and both, financial and physical management of our asset’s positions.
- Support and drive GridBeyond’s entry into new ancillary services and power markets. Understand market structure, analyse potential opportunities and definition and execution of trading strategies.
- Assessing and dealing with alarms taking ownership and responsibility to solve them in a timely fashion.
- Dealing with customer requests (report config, setpoint changes, schedule changes etc).
- Support GridBeyond smart grid services; application processes, generating and carrying out weekly and real-time declarations, declaration analysis, dispatch management, site/application alarms and generating customer statements.
- Contacting customers to ensure we have dispatch and engagement info up to date and that customers themselves are ready for dispatches.
- Ensuring we are always ready to deliver a dispatch to answer the needs of the Grid. Having procedures and staff at the ready to deliver.
- Monitoring delivery performance of services on an ongoing basis and preparing performance reports as required by grid operators.
- Develop understanding of customer sites, assets, and control techniques for current live sites
- Reporting unit performance and alarms to business on weekly basis.
- Carrying out energy analysis on customer data to determine efficiency savings, site energy usage issues and additional savings opportunities for both Ireland and UK clients.
- Cite-See (GridBeyond’s head end controller) support for deployment team.
- Centre-See and Customer Portal configuration and support for existing customer base.
- Provide feedback to the development team on tools and services to assist with energy analysis.
- Assist in the development of clients net zero strategy across numerous industries.
- Assist with the integration and carbon impact of new renewable technology solutions.
- Assist in the development of feasibility studies.

What do I need to be a good technical fit for this role?
- Engineering degree (L7 or L8) or equivalent
- Understanding of trading, specifically energy trading a preference but not a requirement
- Good understanding of energy usage, energy billing across industrial and commercial retail buildings
- Interest in sustainability, renewable technologies, and carbon neutrality
- Experience of working a 24/7 shift roster a plus
- Strong communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills
- Produce presentations and reports to a professional standard

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and execute the global financial strategy aligned with GridBeyond’s business objectives.
- Develop and supervise creation of complex financial models, valuation analysis, investment memos, board materials and other presentations.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership to support decision-making and growth initiatives.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Lead Group tax planning and structuring initiatives.
Financial Operations & Reporting:
- Supervise and control the process flow, from the structuring of an analytical accounting and reporting model to the budgeting and monitoring company performance including the production and evolution of KPI reporting packs, as well as supporting the corporate strategy.
- Oversee a team to ensure monthly financial reporting accuracy and compliance in line with international standards, local regulations and shareholder requirements.
- Prepare the annual budget through strong relationships with business leaders.
- Manage financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely completion of consolidated and statutory financial statements.

Risk Management & Compliance:

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a senior finance leader, ideally as Head of Finance in the energy, technology, or cleantech sectors.
- Strong technical accounting skills, and modelling skills.
- Demonstrated success in managing global finance functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Expertise in legal, tax and corporate matters.
- Analytical and able to synthesize complex or diverse information, with a high degree of personal accountability.
- Organized, energetic and self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative
- Experience in leading and managing a team with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in scaling companies and managing cross-border financial activities.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.
- High proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PPT etc.. to produce presentations and reports to a professional standard for board level reporting.
- Exposure to the energy sector, international smart grid markets and expertise in flexibility would be preferable though not essential.
- Commercial aptitude, with experience contributing to business strategy by identifying and pursuing market opportunities.
