GridBeyond appoints a new Regional Sales Manager in Japan 

Yoshinori Fukushima has joined GridBeyond as Regional Sales Manager for Japan. 

Having entered the Japanese market in 2022 GridBeyond is now expanding its business interests in the country as policy and regulations are set to bring about new opportunities in the energy sector.

A review of the country’s principal energy policy, the Strategic Energy Plan, is to take place this year, with policy makers expected to carve out new primary energy supply and power generation mix targets. In addition, new ancillary services markets are set to launch in 2024, with rolling weekly and day-ahead markets offering additional revenue streams for storage. A new, low carbon capacity market will allow battery storage of three hours to participate in auctions scheduled in 2023 and 2024 for delivery in 2027 or sooner.  

As Regional Sales Manager, Yoshinori will look at optimisation and trading for battery storage assets cross new and existing markets in Japan. 

Yoshinori has more than 20 years’ experience in electric engineering and sales sectors. He has worked  for ABB Japan, Motors and Generators and for many different industries. He has also more than five years of optimisation software sales experience for the maritime industry during his time with Wartsila Japan. 

“In my previous roles, I primarily worked in technical and sales positions at a European heavy electrical engineering company, focusing on rotating machinery, and later in a sales role at a European maritime industry manufacturer. Drawing upon the insights gained from these experiences, I aim to leverage my expertise to articulate the value of Grid Beyond’s cutting-edge technology. In this demanding Japanese market, known for its high standards, my goal is to earn the trust of customers by effectively communicating the advanced features of our technology. Ultimately, I aspire to establish a “Win-Win” relationship, building mutual trust and collaboration” commented Yoshinori Fukushima.
