GridBeyond to advance decarbonisation in the metal sector in PJM
GridBeyond, a global smart energy company, has announced a new partnership with ATI to support decarbonisation and enhance the company’s energy strategy in PJM.
ATI (NYSE: ATI) is a $4.4 billion global producer of high performance materials and solutions for the aerospace and defense markets, and critical applications in electronics, medical and specialty energy.
GridBeyond will manage the enrolment of the company in peak avoidance programs and the use of the real-time price forecaster, which predicts high energy prices before they happen generating significant on-the-bill savings through capacity tag (PLC) reduction and reducing exposure during high localized marginal prices (LMP).
By voluntarily curtailing energy use when requested, businesses support grid reliability and generate on-the-bill savings, helping offset their rising electricity costs while reducing carbon emissions.
GridBeyond’s Forecaster enables companies to plan high-energy operations during lower-cost periods, helping manage price volatility and reduce overall energy costs. It helps anticipating energy supply fluctuations, hedging against price spikes, and reducing reliance on last-minute purchasing managing risks. Forecaster it also aligns with energy consumption with production cycles and operational demand, allowing for smarter resource deployment and improved scheduling.
“ATI has a remarkable history, and we are very pleased to support it in the development of its energy strategy. The slower pace of new generation being added to the grid to respond to the growing demand, makes necessary a proactive energy management strategies that can help to significantly mitigate energy costs. Through a combination of operational flexibility, participation in grid programs, and smart procurement decisions, organizations can cushion the impact of higher costs but also turn their energy usage into a competitive advantage” said Nick Guay, GridBeyond Business Development Director.
