The UKA (UK Allowance) is the tradable unit under the UK Emissions Trading Scheme (UK ETS). Each allowance permits the holder to emit one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO₂e). Covered entities must monitor and report emissions annually, then surrender enough UKAs to match their emissions.
