Celebrating exciting milestones on our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion journey at GridBeyond

You may have seen recently that we’re embarking on an exciting Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy journey here at GridBeyond, kicked off with an in-depth Q&A with Laura Merriman, Global Head of Human Resources. In this update, we’ll look at the latest milestones the latest updates on our EDI journey.

We’re committed to creating an exceptional workplace and fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and this long-term initiative is designed to enhance not only our workplace culture but also our ability to innovate and better serve our valued customers and partners.

We’ve taken some significant steps forward already which most recently include our HR team and Senior Leadership participating in a EDI session with the Irish Centre for Diversity. During the session, the teams explored the essential principles of inclusive leadership – how it goes beyond traditional leadership by fostering a culture where every team member feels valued and heard. They also discussed types of discrimination, highlighting the nuances between direct and indirect forms, and how they can manifest in everyday workplace interactions. Another key area of focus was unconscious bias, recognising these biases within ourselves and learning strategies to mitigate their impact on our decision-making processes. The session reinforced the definitions of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and why these concepts are vital for creating a thriving, innovative workplace.

They also learned about the key leadership traits needed for fostering inclusion, such as empathy, active listening, and a commitment to ongoing learning and self-reflection. By making a commitment to inclusion, we are not only aligning with our values but also setting the stage for a more dynamic and collaborative work environment. It was a fantastic experience, and we’re excited about the new ideas and approaches we can integrate into our workplace!

In addition, we have rolled out QR code laptop stickers for our all team members. These stickers will allow everyone to stay updated with the latest EDI news and initiatives directly from their devices. We believe that keeping our team informed is crucial in ensuring we all move forward in our EDI efforts together.

As we look to the future, our EDI strategy will continue to evolve and expand. We are committed to embedding EDI into every facet of our business, from recruitment, onboarding and development to daily operations. Our goal is to create a workplace where every team member feels valued, included, and empowered to contribute their best work.
