GridBeyond and Constellation register high interest for GridBeyond’s AI-powered Demand Response program in PJM

GridBeyond, a global leader in AI-powered energy solutions, and Constellation, the nation’s largest producer of emission-free electricity, have announced strong interest and enrollment in GridBeyond’s new demand response (DR) program within the PJM Interconnection.

Leveraging GridBeyond’s advanced AI platform, the program enables commercial and industrial customers to reduce energy usage during peak demand periods, unlocking financial incentives and contributing to a more resilient and flexible grid.

GridBeyond’s AI platform allows participating customers to create digital twins of their sites to model energy-saving scenarios, automate demand response actions to maximize financial rewards and access real-time grid data for improved operational planning. Solutions like GridBeyond’s Forecaster will help companies to plan high-energy operations during lower-cost periods, mitigating energy price volatility and reduce overall operating costs.

The collaboration supports PJM’s broader priorities to increase grid flexibility and integrate more distributed resources without costly new infrastructure.

Beginning with the 2027/28 delivery year, the PJM Emergency Load Response Program (ELRP) will be extended year-round, providing businesses with an opportunity to monetize operational flexibility by curtailing energy usage during periods of grid stress. Upcoming rules will require automation and more responsive participation. The shift to year-round readiness means organizations must prepare for interruptions beyond peak cooling periods, making this program a critical tool for generating savings and revenues.

“We are very pleased by the program uptake from businesses who recognize the dual opportunity to lower energy costs and play an active role in strengthening grid reliability,” said Sean McEvoy, President of GridBeyond North America. “The program gives opportunities to businesses to respond to the changes in the PJM Interconnection energy market including the expansion of the ELRP.”
