GridBeyond joins the Refrigerated Warehouse & Transport Association of Australia
GridBeyond the world’s leading technology player for managing distributed and flexible energy resources has joined the Refrigerated Warehouse & Transport Association of Australia (RWTA).

The company, which recently entered the Australian market, will provide AI-powered demand response, virtual power plant (VPP) services and generation and storage asset optimisation for the cold storage sector across Australia’s National Electricity Market. Using artificial intelligence and data science, GridBeyond’s technology solution will allow its C&I customers to participate in energy market opportunities without any capital expenditure or impact on their operations.
Mark Davis, Managing Director at commented:
“We are pleased to join the RWTA, and we are looking forward to supporting its members with our expertise and energy market insights.
“GridBeyond’s intelligent asset optimisation platform can help businesses in the food and cold logistics sectors to enhance savings and boost revenues. Cold storage assets used in the refrigeration cycle, such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, fans and coolers, are ideal for participation in grid balancing services. The energy consumption of those assets is highly flexible and can therefore be easily used to participate in energy services and support grid operators with balancing the energy network, without any impact on the operational integrity.”
Marianne Kintzel, the Executive Officer of the RWTA said:
“The RWTA acknowledges that the Australian Cold Chain requires products, services and initiatives that empower them to make sustainable choices across the temperature-controlled sector in the years ahead. Making the most informed choices to ensure that they can manage their flexible energy requirements and optimise this with wholesale trading is necessary. There are key developments in energy transition and securing Australia’s energy future on the path to net zero. This is an important part of supporting the cold chains high usage of energy. GridBeyond will enhance this relationship of smart energy usage for our Industry.”
The Australian Cold Chain’s Association, the RWTA, (Refrigerated Warehouse & Transport Association of Australia Ltd) represents the warehousing and transport sectors involved in the storage, distribution and transportation of temperature-controlled products in Australia.
