EU Commissioner visits GridBeyond HQ
European Commissioner for Climate, Net Zero and Clean Growth Wopke Hoekstra recently visited GridBeyond’s HQ in Dublin as part of the Clean Tech Tour.
During the visit, the Commissioner highlighted the importance of transition technologies, noting that GridBeyond’s use of AI and software to manage over 5GW of flexible energy is a prime success story. He emphasized that as Europe rapidly deploys more renewable energy, building a smarter, highly flexible electricity system is absolutely vital for the continent’s climate goals, competitiveness, and energy independence.
Its “great to see such a success story at a time when Europe needs not only to deploy more renewables, but also to build a smarter, more flexible electricity system”, Hoekstra said.
GridBeyond opened its global headquarters in Dublin earlier in 2026, marking a key milestone in the company’s continued international expansion. The facility serves as the central hub for GridBeyond’s global operations, supporting activity across nine electricity market jurisdictions on 4 continents and enabling the optimisation of energy assets across industrial demand response, renewable, and storage portfolios.
A core feature of the new headquarters is its enhanced Trading Desk and Network Operations Centre (NOC), which provides real-time visibility and control across multiple energy markets and distributed energy assets. Operating 24/7, the centre plays a critical role in managing GridBeyond’s rapidly growing platform, which has contracted over 5GW to date, and supports over 550 clients across more than 1,400 sites and 55+ industries.
