GridBeyond, the global leader in intelligent energy technology for C&I and Distributed Energy Resource Management (DERM), appointed Leah Layton as their new Market Development Manager.
Leah joins the US team with a wealth of knowledge gained over a decade long career in the energy markets. Her experience includes the development of financial and operational analysis for a combined cycle power plant in ERCOT and an expansion strategy for the PJM Interconnection and Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), focused around the implementation of short and long-term trading in multiple commodity markets.
More recently, Leah developed and executed commercial business plans for entrance into ERCOT’s competitive e-retail space. She worked collaboratively alongside multidisciplinary teams to integrate several new platforms, such as competitive bidding and daily pricing to improve the day to day operations at an energy services company.
At GridBeyond, Leah will be responsible for identifying energy market opportunities for Texas businesses and executing a seamless transition into the ERCOT market.
Wayne Muncaster, Vice-president for North America commented:
“Leah is a highly qualified Texas Market expert with a successful track record, and we are delighted to welcome her to her new role at our US headquarters in Houston.
“With Leah’s support, the team are looking forward to building upon GridBeyond’s success in Europe, extending our award-winning services to new clients and partners in the US, and helping them access revenue and efficiency opportunities in the US energy markets.”
Leah Layton, newly appointed Market Development Manager, commented:
“Having spent many years in the Texas energy market, I am thrilled to have joined a team that is continually pushing the boundaries and changing the traditional ways we think about the energy markets.
“Bringing over a decade of experience from Europe, GridBeyond maximizes opportunities in the US energy markets and delivers them to energy-intensive businesses, utilities, suppliers, grid operators and other market participants. As a Market Development Manager, my priority is ensuring GridBeyond has a seamless transition into the ERCOT market, paving the way for its subsequent expansion into other territories.”
