GridBeyond welcomes Neil Garland as Head of Origination in the UK

GridBeyond has appointed Neil Garland as Head of Origination in the UK.

Neil is an experienced procurement professional with more than 15 years’ experience in the energy sector, and in managing complex projects, including end-to-end sourcing activities, market trading and risk management.

As the UK gets ready to reach net zero by 2050 more sources of renewables become part of the energy mix. As energy prices are subjected to volatility PPA can reduce market price risks guaranteeing stable energy price especially for solar wind and farm operators.

Neil has worked in the energy industry for a number of years both as a client (energy procurement manager at Hovis, JLR and Aggregate Industries), and as a retailer/consultant with time at e.on, ENER-G, Mitie, and most recently as Origination Manager at Good Energy.

At GridBeyond, Neil will provide a link between renewables generators and energy buyers, providing full portfolio and risk management system for power trades, PPA contracts and related hedges. GridBeyond AI-powered optimisation solution identifies and manage pricing risks on every offer and obtain a forecast of the future PPA cash-flows, helping asset owners to optimise their PPA portfolio and get the most value per MW.

On joining GridBeyond, Neil Garland commented:
“I’m thrilled to join GridBeyond at a very exciting time both for the business and the entire renewable energy sector. GridBeyond are an industry leader in delivering a range of solutions, most of all demand-side response services, to an impressive global portfolio of businesses. I look forward to supporting both our existing and future customers in meeting their sustainability goals”.

Mark Davis, Chief Commercial Officer at GridBeyond, commented:
“We are very happy that Neil has agreed to join our rapidly growing business. His expertise and experience is a valuable addition to our company in support of our vision of delivering a global zero carbon future”.
